Rayyan's 1st birthday

Rayyan turned 1 on 8th Feb. We wanted to organize a birthday party for him but there was just too much planning to do so maybe when he's older we'll plan one huge one for him. But he did not just have one, but two birthday celebrations. But something new happened to him before his birthday.

He was admitted to UMMC last Friday. As u can remember, he is allergic to eggs and was due for his MMR immunization at 1 year old. So he needed to be admitted for observation. Alhamdulillah, everything was well. Tapi akak penat betul cos dia betul2 xdok diam. N it was just for 6 hours! He just slept for less than an hour. Luckily i keje kt situ so bwkla dia jejln round hosp.. tgk klinik, wad n ofis.

After discharge, we picked Shah up n terus bwk dia gi KLCC for pain therapy (but i think it was more of window shopping therapy for his mommy). He was still wearing his bracelet nametag at that time. Ramai gak tanya apa tu. So when i told them that he just got out of the hosp, sume terdiam. They must have thought that i'm crazy for bringing out my son when he just got better. I just like to see him wear it for the day cos i never wanna see it on him again after this.

Shah treated us at Chilli's. Berbaloi gak cos kids meal is free n byk mana la rayyan bole mkn kan? Anyway thanks Uncle Shah! Dah besar sikit rayyan bole demand toys lak. Then we headed back to Johor the next day n celebrated with in-laws n family. He was not in a party mood cos satu hari xtido so mengaruk2. Tapi sempat gakla potong ice-cream cake ngan ayah dia.

Happy Birthday Rayyan! We're gonna have another birthday celebration at the end of the month k. We love u so much n wish for u all the best things life has to offer.

Anaphylactic Shock

Today is a tragic day for rayyan.. Tok mommy fed him a half boiled egg this morning (it was his first time). He only ate a quarter of it. Not long after that he vomitted. Okay so maybe he still can't digest eggs yet. But he was groggy the whole morning.. not feeding well and was very clingy. Initially we thought maybe it was one of his bad days. After 3 hours we started to notice rashes on his forehead. Thought it was an insect bite at first. Then the rash started to spread to the whole body. He actually had an allergic reaction to the EGG! We gave him medicine to cool it down and applied calamine lotion all over his body.


Sian sgt... His ears were so red like hot chilli and he was scratching all over. Thank god after feeding him he slept for nearly 3 hours and the rash subsided. Pity u my dear.. dahla ada eczema, ni allergic to eggs lak. Maybe u are unfortunate in some things but lucky in others. We pray the best for u, sayang..


Now he's back to his old self again. But we still need to feed eggs to him from time to time coz the MMR vaccine contains an egg like substance. Hopefully he'll be able to take the MMR vaccination when he is one year old..

Untuk Menguji Alahan Sebelum Suntikan Pelalian MMR
(Umur 12 bulan)

Tujuan:
Untuk mengelakkan berlaku alahan yang akut (teruk) seperti anak sukar bernafas dan kebiruan. Boleh dimulakan bila-bila masa dari umur 8-10 bulan.

Arahan:
1. Beri anak makan kuning telur satu sudu (sepenuh masak) 1-2 kali seminggu.
2. Jika berlaku kemerahan kulit dibahagian mulut atau badan (alahan), HENTIKAN makan telur untuk sementara waktu (seminggu sahaja).
3. Teruskan makan kuning dan putih telur, lebihkan dari masa ke semasa. Seminggu 2-3 kali.
4. Jika tiada alahan, anak anda sedia untuk disuntik pelalian MMR sewaktu berumur 12 bulan.

*Jika anak anda ada alahan pada telur, suntikan MMR diteruskan di bawah perhatian doktor selama 2jam.

The Little Shaolin

Last Saturday Rayyan had his first haircut. Ayah dia mmg nk cukur rambut dia botak lepas cukur jambul aritu. At first nk cukur mata 1 but akak tu cukur licin. Nasib baik rayyan dok diam je the whole time. He looks so different now. Mcm budak kecik dlm cite shaolin. Kalau hilang mesti org ingat anak cina. Lepas botak ni, dia nmpk cheeky sgt! Geramnye..

But the one habit rayyan yg susah nk stop is dia suka sgt garu2. I dont think that it's itchy (although dia mmg ada eczema). The problem is kuku dia tajam gile. Dah potong sehabis pendek pun still tajam gak. Habis kepala n muka dia calar-balar. Dah macam pirate lak. Tak taula camne nak buat. Sometimes berdarah2 coz dia benamkan kuku dia. Kecik2 dh ada habit. But the best habit of all, everytime masa mandi tangan kiri dia akan garu bontot while tangan kanan pegang 'bird'.. takut terbang kot.. hehe..

Last week we brought rayyan to the hosp coz he had eye discharge. Initially not that bad so beli je cmc ointment. Malas nk bwk dia gi hosp coz he was stil active n feeding well. But after 2 days he developed fever n mata dia mcm bengkak, so bwkla gi a&e. Uncle dadan yg check. Dia amik masters in paediatrics so sesape yg ada kemuskilan psl penyakit kanak2 bolela consult dia. But basic rule for ur kids, if they are still active n selera makan bagus, u might not need to worry too much. But if they just sleep n don't wanna eat or drink, then better see a doctor.

Now ni mommy dia pulak yg sakit. Mula2 sakit tekak jer.. tetiba bgn pagi satu ari tu, terus takde suara. Now batuk2. Hajja call tadi gelak2. Albir pun asyik ejek2 je suara i yg 'sayup2' ni. Tapi barula sedar yg suara ni pun adalah salah satu nikmat dari Allah. Seksa woo xde suara.. I feel that it is difficult for me to express myself.. Barula nak rasa bersyukur dengan nikmat kurniaan Alah..

Anyway to everybody, selamat menyambut bulan ramadhan. Puasa jgn tinggal, rajin2la gi tarawikh.. (same goes for me as well).
